Changing Exercises, Workout Music, and Powerlifting Goals | EP 404

  1. I just recently started a new job and I’m out of town all week in a small town with no gyms. I work construction, 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week with Sunday’s off. What is the best way to maintain strength, should I do bodyweight stuff during the week, and do a SBD session on Sunday? Is it possible to maintain or even gain strength with this schedule? 
  2. What are your thoughts on changing exercises every mesocycle? Is that too frequently or does it depend on your goal?  
  3. You guys talk about effort a lot, do you think certain exercises get sandbagged more than others? I’m thinking of RDLs for this, but I’m curious your thoughts. 
  4. I don’t know if you have talked about this before, but what’s your go-to workout playlist or music that gets you pumped for training?
  5. When you started competing in powerlifting, what was your initial goal and do you feel like you achieved it?
